Well I have. They are full of knowledge, experience, passion and workshop dates! Stacy Greene and Melissa Tellecamp are a resource provided by Cobb County School for parents. They provide Parent Programs and much more. Thank you ladies for your support. Next week there are two very important meetings; "Understanding the IEP Process" and "Parent Advocacy". Check out their calendar and flyers for more information and plan to attend these valuable meetings. Check out The Parent Mentor website HERE and look for a flyer in your child's backpack. For more, check out my Resources page.
Conference week is behind us, clocks turning back and Elves are planning for the holiday season.11/2/2016 With school conferences over, I hope your teacher gave you glowing remarks about your child. Along with the glowing remarks and words of encouragement might have been words of concern from your child's teacher. What to do next? This is the point when many parents do not know where to turn for advise. We want to feel that the school is doing all they can for our child. But, our mama and papa bear instincts might feel that we are the only ones qualified to understand what our child needs. True. Sometimes, we need to feel reassured and supported on the path we are about to take. We need to hear from other parents and professionals. That's why I wanted to create this Council. On this site you will find links to broad lists of professionals and workshops, books and resources. Use the Resources link at the bottom of the Welcome page. Take a look at the latest Parent to Parent of Georgia newsletter. Know that that other parents and caregivers have walked in similar shoes and can help. Your child will grow from your efforts in a way that will amaze you! Its a long wonderful and, sometimes hard, journey but well worth it.
